About The Competition
BWSC (Bridgestone World Solar Challenge) is the largest and most prestigious competition for solar-powered vehicles. Since 1987, the event has been held every two years. In 2019, a record-breaking 53 teams from 24 countries, with approximately 1,500 participants, registered for the competition. The event was followed globally by 25 million people.
The competition aims to build a global community that pushes the boundaries of technology in the sustainable energy-based transportation sector.
Location: A 3,020 km route crossing the heart of the continent, starting in Darwin and finishing in Adelaide
